At Sea Restaurant in Bonaire was crowned the best restaurant of the Caribbean by the Caribbean Journal. The Journal visited restaurants al over the Caribbean and from these travels compiled a list of the fifty best places to eat. They had their best dining experience at At Sea Restaurant, which doesn’t surprise me one bit.

At Sea Bonaire

The restaurant (2011) is owned by Kim van Dijk and Rick van den Broek, both from the Netherlands, They have lived on the island since 2008. Good food, mainly local, good service and a lovely atmosphere is what makes At Sea Restaurant special. I had a great dinner that consisted of only local produce.

To begin an amuse with couscous and tuna, for starters a Caribbean bouillabaisse with wahoo, barracuda and tuna, and as a main local goat meat from Aletta’s Semper Kontentu Goat Farm. At Sea Restaurant also serves very tasty vegetarian dishes.
