During my last visit to the Flemish coast it was a good time to see the shrimp fishermen. They only fish when it’s low tide. So they have to plan their fishing dates and time. The fishermen use draft horses, mostly Brabantian or Ardennes breed. These peaceful and strong animals weigh about 1,000 kilograms and are perfect for the hard work of shrimp fishing. Read more »
Don’t panic it’s organic is a new hotspot in Ibiza Town. It opened just six weeks ago. The owners of the vegetarian salad and juice bar, Patricia and Johan, are a Dutch couple who fell in love with Ibiza. The family owned agriturismo Can Fuster is located in the north of Ibiza in Sant Joan de Labritja. Vicente, one of the owners, showed me around the property and the vegetable garden. I got the chance to meet the chickens that produced the delicious eggs that I had for breakfast, and the lovely tasting apricots from their own trees. Read more »

Restaurant Aubergine opened only a few weeks ago in Ibiza. The farm to table concept uses local and organic food, partly from their own vegetable garden. I tried the gazpacho and the aubergine pastry. The food is tasty. Just like the wine. The presentation and the decoration at the open air restaurant are beautiful. Read more »
The village of Sant Carlos is crowded when I arrive on Saturday. That’s because on Saturday the hippy market is at Las Dalias. You won’t notice anything of that once you enter the luxury boutique hotel Can Curreu.
