The biggest food festival in Scandinavia is held annually at the end of July. In four days over 250,000 people visit Gladmat. ‘Glad mat’ means ‘happy food’. Shrimp fishermen in Oostduinkerke
During my last visit to the Flemish coast it was a good time to see the shrimp fishermen. They only fish when it’s low tide. So they have to plan their fishing dates and time. The fishermen use draft horses, mostly Brabantian or Ardennes breed. These peaceful and strong animals weigh about 1,000 kilograms and are perfect for the hard work of shrimp fishing. Read more »

Hotel Rusthållargården in Arild
Hotel Rusthållargården is located in a quiet and peaceful spot next to the Kullaberg Nature Reserve. The restaurant uses local, organic produce, sustainable fish and seafood. Coffee and tea are organic and fair trade. From the hotel you have a nice view of the colourful houses at the waterfront. The four-star hotels rooms are spread across three villas: blue, green and yellow coloured. My bed room was in the blue villa. Read more »

After an interesting visit to Kulturen in Lund we’re ready for some food hiking! We made a pure foodie tour in Lund and explored the most delicious foodie shops.
